Judy I do not cook it on top of the stove. But I have seen where others do. The main thing is to be sure you oven heats properly. If not you could end up with a runny pie from what I've been told. I've never had that problem with this pie.
Diane, you pie looks wonderful. I also see that your pie is FIRM. I was wondering if you COOKED your syrup mixture on the stove before you put it in the pie crust. I noticed that the lady that tested and baked your pie said she did.
